Minä Perhonen is a Japanese fashion brand. The name of the brand originates in Finland as the designer, Akira Minagawa is influenced by the lifestyle and culture of the Scandinavian country. “Minä” means “I” and “Perhonen” is “butterfly.” The brand logo signifies “various characters (dots) within oneself (rectangle shape).”
What he’s created is a Scandinavia seen through a Japanese lense, a place of cutely puritan peasant costumes, rough hand-beaded fabrics and bags made from the recycled offcuts. We think these pieces are stunning!
The design of the shops in Japan also reflect the brand as well with clean and modern lines.
You have to watch the amazing video for the 2011 Autumn/Winter Collection. This is a very unique way of showing clothes! Genius is all we can say.
